Why did you decide to work in tech?
I have a very hybrid background --started out from Civil Engineering with a dream of going into architecture, then the mobile age came and I found myself not able to put down my iPhone 4S with this new app called 'Instagram'. That was back in 2010 when I decided to leverage myself into interaction design.
What kind of work do you do?
I see any type of activity -- ideation, research, design, prototyping -- just as different tools in my toolbox. I use whatever works to solve the problem I'm having at the moment.
OK,but what are your hard skills?
I see myself as the perfect generalist — One day I'm doing user research, interviewing customer and collect feedbacks. Another day I'm working on interface design and prototyping.
Picking up new tools is never a problem for me. I'm always the first one in the group to discover most recent trend, tools or methodology.
Just to name a few: Competitive Analysis, User Interview/Survey, Persona/User Stories, Journey Mapping, Co-creation, Brainstorming, Lo-fi design sketch, Wireframing, Sitemap/Task flow/IA, Applying design language, UI Patterns/Elements, Gestures/Interactions, Edge case/error case...
What is your ideal job?
I enjoy working with smart people in a fun, fast-paced no-BS type of environment. I'm ok with working independently but definitely prefer to be a team-player: As an ESFP I embrace new changes and ideas, always pumping up energy in the team.
My interest goes beyond screen design -- I'm eager to apply user experience knowledge to solve problems in broader space.
Who are you outside of work?
My curiosity of things inspires me to connect with product people from all around the world. I am an active member of many design communities including Global UX Slack, Women Techmakers, XX + UX, etc.
I've been a casual gamer for the past 10 years. I play fast-pace co-op games like League of Legends and Overwatch. My preferred role? Support. It allows me to be the leader and take care of other teammates when they need me.
Aside from work, I compose music and play seaboard.
